STILL QUEUEING

Residents, tourists could be seen bravely queueing on pavements, outside ice cream parlours, ignoring the weather or the long hours, waiting for their turn to enter the shop and order their beloved ice cream.

It seemed like life returning to nearly normal and we all started to talk about projects, to turn them into reality. Driving, flying, travelling toward sunny places.
People went back to work (if there was still a job for them to go to ).
Schools were – come what may – to reopen; In Scotland anyway.

There was a new and different feeling: hope.
